Sebastopol Center for the Arts is offering Kids’ Summer Camps

The Sebastopol Center for the Arts is officially open, and so are our kids’ summer camps! It’s not too late to get them busy and active this summer. Here are last-minute summer camp ideas for kids and teens of all ages and interests. Only a few spots remain!

UkuleleThe Ukulele is the perfect instrument for beginners to feel successful right away! We’ll learn about rhythm, we’ll learn to strum and sing and find out how much fun playing a string instrument can be! Ages 8-12June 28 – July 2 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
FilmmakingHands-on course in traditional filmmaking methods. Explore the history of 20th century filmmaking, learn how to pitch an idea and take into pre-production, creative development to produce an original short film and a short documentary film using their smart phone and a Chromebook! Ages 14-17July 6 – 912:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Project RunwayLearn techniques of taking apart and putting together garments through no sew and sewing techniques. You become the designer and explore garment proportion, color theory, fabric mixing and inject your personal style throughout the development process. Add your brand with heat press vinyl. And just like real life, designers will walk the runway in their new couture creation. Ages 12-14July 19 – 2312:30 PM – 4:30 PM
ImprovThis 1 week, 2 hours/day course, is a building block for young actors. Improv is THE foundation for ALL acting activities. Ages 14-17June 28 – July 212:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Explorers:Build a Jungle!Campers will explore what it means to be sustainable, in a hands-on, project based way. They will collaborate to build, design and innovate tools and technology to use natural resources like the sun and rain- constructing a solar oven, water catchment system and more! Ages 7-11July 19 – July 239:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Aesop’s FablesYour child will take an Aesop Fable classic and create, with a small group, their own version including, dialogue, costumes, props and actions under the direction of an experienced children’s theatre director. Ages 5-7June 28 – July 212:00 PM – 2:00 PM
