The New York Post reports:

Former NBA player Royce White plans to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft — the second former pro to test the league’s policy on trans athletes.

White, 35, a Republican candidate for US Senate who only played three games in his short NBA career, made the announcement on Friday on the heels of former first round draft pick and Knicks center Enes Kanter Freedom’s declaration earlier in the day. “I’m transgender. I’m a woman… I identify as sometimes identifying as a woman for purposes of… professional basketball,” White told Fox News.

Earlier in the day, Freedom said he reviewed the WNBA’s eligibility criteria , and insisted he met the requirements to play. Article XIII of the WNBA’s 2026 collective bargaining agreement says, “Only players who are women are eligible to play in the WNBA.” Yet the 409-page document never defines “women” or offer any policy on transgender eligibility, nor does it state whether self-identification alone is sufficient.

Royce White, the GOP Senate candidate in Minnesota who once wrote that the “bad guys won” World War II, had another bizarre take Monday—this time about the downsides of being married to an “educated” woman.

On a Nov. 1 radio interview on far-right Christian preacher Jesse Lee Peterson’s The Fallen State, White, who also said he believes women “have become too mouthy,” declared that marrying “an educated woman, statistically, would probably not be a good idea.”

At five in the morning one week after Republican Royce White lost his 2022 Minnesota congressional primary, his campaign shelled out more than $1,200 in donor funds to a vendor 1,800 miles away not typically associated with political expenses—an all-nude strip club in Miami, Florida, called “Gold Rush Cabaret.”

That is just one among dozens of outlandish but previously unreported payments that The Daily Beast has identified from White’s 2022 Federal Election Commission filings. Several campaign finance experts characterized some of the expenses as potentially illegal spending.

White—star athlete, conspiracy theorist, activist, and purveyor of antisemitism—is one of several GOP hopefuls vying for Senate in Minnesota, where this week, the state Republican Party unexpectedly endorsed him in a landslide.

Minnesota’s primary is this Tuesday. White lost the 2024 general election by 16 points to Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

In his run-up to winning the 2024 Senate nomination, White came under fire for social media posts in which he called people “fag,” “cunt,” and “retard.”
