LGBTQI+ LEGACY Sonoma County works to preserve, collect, and archive historical materials
from the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex communities of Sonoma
County. We believe it is vital to record the story of how Sonoma County became a vibrant,
desirable place where LGBTQI+ people lived, worked, and built a community.
We are looking for a volunteer Social Media Coordinator to manage and grow our online
presence, helping us better connect with our community and the general public.
Key Responsibilities p

• Expand Outreach: Build upon our existing Facebook Page and establish a new presence
  on Instagram and TikTok.
• Content Creation: Develop engaging content programs with LEGACY member (e.g., a
  ‘This Week in LGBTQI+ History’ series focusing on local Sonoma County figures, events,
  and milestones).
• Event Promotion: Create buzz leading up to major events like Pride, Finding History Day,
  and partnerships with the Museum of Sonoma County.
• Community Management: Post relevant non-LEGACY local events, share LEGACY
  announcements in selected Facebook Groups, respond to page messages, and moderate
  comments to maintain a safe online space.
• Administrative Support: Record contact information and inquiries generated through social
  media channels.
  Requirements
• Strong copywriting and communication skills.
• Familiarity with managing Facebook Pages (training is available!).
• Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with programs like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.
• Comfortable using Google Drive for file sharing and organization.
