SFO Set to rename a Terminal after Harvey Milk

San Francisco Airport looks set to rename Terminal 1 after murdered LGBTI rights hero Harvey Milk. The name change was first proposed five years ago by former city supervisor David Campos. He suggested renaming the whole airport in honor of the campaigner – immortalized by Sean Penn in the 2008 film, Milk. In light of the proposal, an airport naming committee formed. Lesbian Accepts $182,000 From Employer in Historic Workplace Discrimination Case

  The first of two landmark lawsuits brought by the US’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) against private employers was settled Thursday. The lawsuits are the first to be instigated by the EEOC for plaintiffs who said they had been discriminated against for being gay. They were filed at the beginning of March. The legal action followed last July’s landmark ruling by the EEOC that gay and lesbian staff could claim sexual orientation discrimination as a form of sex discrimination. Number of Women at Boardroom Level Influences Whether a Company is LGBT-friendly

  A comprehensive, 10-year study of Fortune 500 companies has conclude that greater gender diversity at boardroom level makes for a far more inclusive workplace for LGBT people. The study has been published by SAGE in the journal of Human Relations, in partnership with The Tavistock Institute. The report’s authors note that non-discrimination policies and domestic partner health insurance benefits are implemented only with the support of top leadership.
