Velvet Buzzsaw that went straight from the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL onto the Netflix is probably the campiest movie we have seen for some time. Jewish Film Institute Announces 6th Annual WinterFest

The Jewish Film Institute (JFI), presenters of the world renowned San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, have announced the dates for the sixth annual WinterFest, which will take place February 16-17, 2019 in San Francisco. The program will take place at the Alamo Drafthouse New Mission Theater on Saturday, February 16th and at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco on Sunday, February 17th and will feature the best new Jewish film and media for a diverse Bay Area audience. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Loses GLAAD Award Nomination over Singer Allegations

Bohemian Rhapsody” won’t be in the running for an Outstanding Film GLAAD Media Award following new sexual assault allegations against director Bryan Singer.  The Atlantic published an in-depth, year-long investigative piece brought to light from four new victims who allege sexual assault and misconduct against Singer when they were teenagers in the 1990s. Singer denied the allegations and decried the story as “homophobic.” “It’s sad that The Atlantic would stoop to this low standard of journalistic integrity. Amazon Removes LGBTI Documentary, Claims it Didn’t Meet Prime’s ‘Quality Standard’

Amazon Prime has removed the LGBTI documentary Words, by trans filmmaker AJ Mattioli. The documentary explores the question if identity, especially as it relates to LGBTI people living in New York City. It includes interviews from various LGBTI figures, including Carmen Carrera, Bob The Drag Queen, Miss Fame, and more. Words initially went up on Amazon Prime over a year ago. However, the company decided to remove it on 17 January. GSN spoke directly to AJ Mattioli about the issue.
