Food for Thought’s Calabash Happens October 4

Gary Carnivele August 20, 2015

Calabash – A Festival of Gourds, Art, and the Garden will happen Sunday, October 4, 2015, 1-5 pm

Food For Thought, in collaboration with the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, present the 15th annual Calabash – Sonoma County’s most colorful and inspiring harvest event. Calabash, named Best Fundraiser by readers of the North Bay Bohemian for the last three years, features a silent auction of fine gourd art, along with tours of Food For Thought’s beautiful organic gardens, which will be at their peak.

Guests at Calabash enjoy a sumptuous array of fine food and wine from Sonoma County’s bountiful harvest, and live music played on hand-made gourd instruments. The event will also feature a sale of unique garden art and book art, and an exclusive selection from Food For Thought Antiques.

Tickets are $45 in advance ($50 day-of-event) and can be purchased on our website – www.fftfoodbank.org, by phone at (707) 887-1647, or at the Food Bank during regular business hours.

Proceeds from Calabash will benefit Food For Thought, which provides comprehensive nutrition and other services – free of charge – to 700 men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS and other critical illnesses in Sonoma County.
