If you’re not headed to see Star Wars this weekend, may the Force be with you in every other fun event happening this week in Sonoma County. Matryoshka Show: From 6-10 p.m. this Friday, Brew Coffee and Beer in Santa Rosa is featuring eclectic Matryoshka nesting doll art of over a dozen local artists. This is not your average art show. Nostalgia Fest: This Saturday, experience a blast from the past with rare shows and reunions from some of your favorite local bands. The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma welcomes legendary bands from around the area, many of which have been broken up for 10 or more years. The Great Russian Nutcracker: This Saturday, The Moscow Ballet presents an exquisite rendition of the Nutcracker, complete with world-class Russian dancers, playful puppets and hand crafted sets and costumes. Saturday, Dec. 19
Santa Fly-In: This Saturday, Santa Claus is flying into Santa Rosa by helicopter, landing at the Pacific Coast Air Museum in Santa Rosa around 10:30 a.m. Good boys and girls are invited to visit with Santa for free to tell the big guy what they want for Christmas, and to also enjoy fun activities and a hot dog lunch for purchase. Dec. 19 & 20
Le Cirque De Boheme: This weekend, visit the annual old-time circus at Cornerstone Sonoma, with awe-inspiring performances based on the French tradition of the 1920s. The show includes aerial fabrics, jugglers, contortionists and more. This winter circus is every part magical and sure to delight all ages. Performances are 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. both days. Sunday, Dec. 20
So You Think You Can Dance: The top 10 finalists of season 12’s hit TV dance show are coming to the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts this Sunday at 8 p.m. See winner Gaby Diaz and other contestants perform the routines you loved on the show, and a few new ones to love. Clothing Swap: If you’ve got some old threads hanging out in your closet, clear them out and bring them to the Arlene Francis Center this Sunday. From 6-10 p.m., everyone is invited to bring a grocery bag filled with clean clothing, then stick around to find a few new-to-you fashions. The event will feature a few local bands and warm drinks to enjoy, and any clothing left after the event will be donated to charity. Admission is a donation of $7-$10.
