LGBT Ativist Jared Milrad Launches #WeWontGoBack National Equality Movement

Gary Carnivele December 21, 2016

Jared Milrad, an award-winning actor, writer, filmmaker, lawyer, and activist, has launched We Won’t Go Back, a people’s movement for Americans of all backgrounds fighting to protect the country’s highest ideals of inclusivity, equality, justice and opportunity.

The movement’s Web site, wewontgoback.us, provides unique resources for supporters to increase democratic engagement, including more than a dozen prominent non-profit organizations in need of donations, ways to contact Members of Congress, and a survey that prioritizes the top social issues of participants for future engagement.

“Nov. 8, 2016 was a turning point for our nation,” said Milrad. “Millions of Americans are deeply troubled and even frightened by the results, and many wonder if America still has a place for them. We Won’t Go Back proves definitely that it does, while providing a crucial space for people of all backgrounds to actively build a more inclusive, hopeful future.”

Causes featured on the site include women’s rights, immigration reform, LGBTQ rights, climate change, civil liberties, gun safety, animal protection, and many others. A promotional video featuring diverse Americans and influencers will be filmed on Monday, November 21, 2016 and released later this year.
