SAGE: Trump Administration Erasing LGBT Elders From National Aging Survey

Gary Carnivele April 28, 2017

SageSAGE is launching a 30-day campaign to tell the Trump administration that LGBT elders MUST NOT be erased from an important national survey on aging. We need you to help amplify their message.

The backstory: The National Survey of Older Americans Act Participants is used to determine what services will be provided to older Americans in need.

Trump wants the survey to stop gathering information about LGBT elders. If they aren’t represented, their needs won’t be met. It’s a first step in erasing the LGBT community from the American map.

So many of our LGBTQ seniors survived the AIDS epidemic. They don’t deserve to have the government once again abandon them. Help  fight for the services #LGBTElders deserve at http://bit.ly/WeRefuse2BInvisible #WeRefuseToBeInvisible
