More gay and bisexual men can donate blood under new FDA rules

The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday that it finalized a new rule that will allow more gay and bisexual men to donate blood.  Under the latest guidelines, all potential donors would need to complete individualized risk assessments — regardless of gender or sexual orientation. People who have had anal sex with new partners or more than one partner in the last three months would be asked to wait to donate blood.
