Police Investigate Whether Killing Of Student Blaze Bernstein Was A ‘Hate Crime’
Investigators are working to determine whether the slaying of 19-year-old University of Pennsylvania student Blaze Bernstein was a “hate crime,” officials said Wednesday. Samuel Lincoln Woodward, a 20-year-old former high school classmate of Bernstein, was charged Wednesday with his murder, as well as a sentence enhancement for using a knife, Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas announced at a news conference.
