Homophobic and transphobic bullying are commonplace in Britain’s school, nearly 4,000 LGBT+ youth, have said according to a glaringly obvious study. In the hallways and cafeterias of schools up and down Britain, half of queer young people reported facing abuse from fellow pupils, research from the British LGBT Awards published yesterday found. A battle against an outdated colonial law has finally come to an end, after the court of appeals in Belize unanimously upheld a 2016 ruling that a ban on gay sex is unconditional. Canada’s federal government posed a rather simple question to its residents: are they comfortable with LGBT+ people? In a preliminary assessment to better understand the challenges faced by the country’s queer community, a wing of the government surveyed Canadians and found an overwhelming amount are, indeed, comfortable. A trans woman and activist who tirelessly worked to battle transphobia was allegedly murdered last weekend in Canada and a suspect has been arrested. Julie Berman, 51, based in Toronto, had for years exerted energy in raising awareness of the rocketing rates of anti-trans violence across the city. A gang of teenage boys were sentenced to 13 years after luring gay men they met on Grindr into a city park before robbing and humiliating them in a homophobic attack. By using fake Grindr accounts, the teens would target gay men and tempt them into Bordesley Green in Birmingham, England, reported Birmingham Live.
