Chick-fil-A’s Foundation Still Donates to Anti-LGBTI Causes

American chicken chain Chick-fil-A is still directing donations to organizations with anti-LGBTI outlooks, new tax filings released today (20 March) show. The fast-food chain has taken great strides to downplay its record for donating to homophobic groups in the past. But 2017 tax filings show the chain’s charitable arm, the Chick-fil-A Foundation, donated $1.65 million to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which imposes a ban on ‘homosexual acts’ on its employees. Moreover, $150,000 also went to the Salvation Army, which has a heated history around LGBTI issues. US 2020 Democratic Candidates to Participate in LGBTI Debate

Democratic presidential candidates will be invited to a forum focused on LGBTI policies. The 2020 candidates will discuss topics related to LGBTI hate crimes, bullying and transgender rights, according to the Washington Post.  The Human Rights Campaign and the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs will host the debate. American right-wing anti-LGBTQ group Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is rolling out their strategy to fight back against the Equality Act. But to no one’s surprise, their strategy is pointedly anti-trans women. Congress re-introduced the Equality’s Act yesterday (15 March) for the third time. Seeking to enshrine LGBTI projections to America’s civil rights. The battle to open New York City’s first affordable LGBTI senior home is on, as some New Yorkers are attempting to block the plans. Online Dating is the Most Popular Way LGBTI Americans Meet Their Soulmates

A study released last month showed that almost 60% of LGBTI couples in America met online. This compared to just over 20% who met in a bar or restaurant that year. Sciologists Michael Rosenfeld and Sonia Hausen of Stanford University and Reuben Thomas of Arizona State University conducted the study. Homophobic Attacks Occur every 10 Hours in Israel, Shocking Figures Show

A homophobic attack occurs every 10 hours in Israel and a homphobic social media post every four minutes, a report showed. The Affiliation for LGBTQ Equality in Israel, or Aguda, submitted the damming report to Israel’s president last week. The group also found a 54% rise in LGBTI hate crime over the last 12 months in the country. Lesbian prisoners in Jamaica are subjected to ‘corrective rape’, a study revealed today (5 February). Women in prison are raped out of a ploy to ‘cure’ them of their sexuality, according to activists.
