The number of coronavirus deaths in Sonoma County is soaring, a grim reminder of rampant virus transmission in the community as the infectious disease infects many more of the county’s most vulnerable residents in senior care homes and the general population. In just the first seven days of the year, county health officials have reported 22 deaths linked to COVID-19.
