Prodded by President Trump’s frequent exhortations to more quickly move on his judicial nominations, the Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings on four controversial nominees* last week. One of the four, Leonard Steven Grasz, a nominee to the US Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and currently senior counsel at Husch Blackwell LLP in Omaha, was unanimously ranked “Not Qualified” by the American Bar Association for “professional competence, integrity and judicial temperament.” Grasz, former general counsel for the Nebraska Republican Party and legal counsel for Nebraskans for the Death Penalty, serves on the virulently anti-LGBTQ Nebraska Family Alliance’s board of […]
