Eight Democrats voted with Republicans to help pass a bill that could force teachers to out transgender students to their parents and ban the acknowledgement of trans identities in school settings. HR 2616, also known as the ‘Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act’, was passed in the House of Representatives on 20 May. Art scholarship to be established for trans student found dead

Friends, loved ones, and community members are mourning the death of Murry Foust, a 22-year-old trans man and student at Northern Kentucky University, whose body was found on Sunday night after a month-long search. “While our hearts are broken and this is not the outcome we were hoping for, we can only pray that finding them provides closure and comfort to everyone who is hurting,” Foust’s family wrote in a statement posted to Facebook on Monday, May 26. King Charles announces UK government’s trans-inclusive conversion therapy ban

The UK Government has pledged a trans-inclusive ban on conversion therapy. A Draft Conversion Practices Bill was included in Wednesday’s King’s Speech, outlining Labour‘s legislative programme for the coming parliamentary session. The Government committed to eradicating what it called “abusive” practices, in line with a pledge made in its 2024 election manifesto. Kansas anti-trans bathroom law leaves even state officials confused

There may be a few public restrooms in Kansas where the state’s expansive anti-trans bathroom law won’t apply. Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach issued an opinion exempting certain spaces from the requirement that restroom facilities be segregated based on gender assigned at birth. Puerto Rico quietly passed an anti-trans bathroom ban & used trans swimmer Lia Thomas to justify it

Earlier this year, Puerto Rico became the first U.S. territory to pass an anti-trans bathroom ban into law. Gov. Jenniffer González-Colón (R) signed H.B. 165 in late February, after it was passed by the Puerto Rican Legislative Assembly with votes of 37–11 in the House and 21–5 in the Senate, as reported by independent journalist Aleksandra Vaca.
