Thousands march for same-sex marriage in New Delhi, India: ‘We are here to celebrate ourselves’

Thousands of members of India’s LGBTQ+ community and allies have taken to New Delhi streets in protest of same-sex marriage rights.  On Sunday (8 January) more than 2,000 people came together to join the Delhi Queer Pride March after a three-year suspension due to the Covid pandemic.  In their press for equal marriage rights, participants danced to drumbeats as they walked more than an hour to Jantar Mantar area near India’s parliament.  The protestors also carried rainbow flags, balloons and placards in a colourful display intended to get legal recognition to same-sex marriage – as the country inches closer to legalising it. Man found guilty of ‘disturbing’ double rape of young gay woman after claiming sex was consensual

A man has been found guilty of kidnapping and the rape of a young gay woman after claiming to be a taxi driver. 28-year-old Yuseab Woldeab was unanimously found guilty of the double rape after just two hours of deliberation by jury members. The ruling was met with audible cheers from activists in the public gallery who had paid attention to the trial. Plymouth Crown Court heard that Woldeab lured the 20-year-old victim, who was heavily intoxicated, into his car after “prowling the streets looking for a victim”. AZ GOP lawmakers now want to ban drag brunches on Sundays

Arizona state GOP lawmakers have introduced a series of bills that would regulate and limit drag shows in the state. Family-friendly drag performances like drag brunches and drag queen story hours have become a lightning rod for Republicans over the past year, with local far-right and anti-LGBTQ+ groups disrupting events all over the country. ‘Don’t Say Gay’ feud advances with new proposed legislation

Florida lawmakers will move to increase state control of Walt Disney World’s private government, according to a notice published Friday, the latest development in a feud over a law critics have dubbed “Don’t Say Gay.” The notice posted on the Osceola County website says the Republican-controlled statehouse will take up legislation changing the structure and powers of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, as the 55-year-old Disney government is known. It is the first known queer youth organization in the United States, and most of its members were queer street youth. Kenyan police have discovered the body of a prominent LGBTQ rights campaigner stuffed inside a metal box in the west of the country, local media reported on Friday. Anti-LGBTQ+ parents now want ‘deprogrammers’ to turn their estranged kids conservative

A new trend seems to be all the rage for anti-LGBTQ+ parents, who have been increasingly touting the need to “deprogram” their progressive children and turn them conservative. A recent report from the New York Post features a group of mothers who say their children refuse to talk to them after being “indoctrinated” with “gender and race ideology” by progressive high schools and colleges.
