Judge Refuses to Reinstate Trump Sanctuary Cities Order

A federal judge in San Francisco on Thursday refused to reinstate President Donald Trump’s executive order to cut funding from cities that limit cooperation with U.S. immigration authorities. The U.S. Department of Justice had asked U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick to reverse his own injunction in April against Trump’s executive order. Rep. Susan Davis Sued for Displaying Rainbow Flag Outside Her Office

A lawsuit has been filed against Rep. Susan Davis, (D-San Diego) and three of her colleagues for displaying rainbow flags outside of their offices. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Washington, D.C., by Chris Sevier, who describes himself as a lobbyist and Iraq War veteran reports the CW San Diego. The other defendants name are Alan Lowenthal, (D-Long Beach), Donald Beyer, (D-Virginia), and Earl Blumenauer, (D-Oregon). DUI Checkpoint Set for Friday in Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa police will set up a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint in Santa Rosa between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. Friday.Officers at the undisclosed location will be specifically on the lookout for drug-impaired drivers. Car accidents involving people under the influence of drugs have been increasing throughout the state, Santa Rosa police said. The last DUI checkpoint Santa Rosa police conducted in June resulted in three DUI-alcohol arrests and two DUI-drug arrests, while 18 drivers were found to be driving without a license and one was picked up for an outstanding warrant.

California Votes to Extend Its Signature Climate Policy

The California Assembly and the California Senate both voted Monday to extend the state’s cap-and-trade program, which requires companies to pay for carbon pollution, through 2030.
