Only 14% of Arizonans will vote to reelect Kyrsten Sinema according to new poll

Out Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) could face an uphill battle if she runs for reelection in 2024. A new Public Policy Polling poll found that a mere 27% of voters in the state of Arizona view Sinema favorably and want her to run for reelection. 50% of voters in the state view her unfavorably and 54% say she shouldn’t run again.  She began her career as a member of the Green Party. At just 54 years old, Rue Landau is already a living, breathing piece of LGBTQ+ history.  As a member of ACT UP during the height of the AIDS epidemic, she fought on the frontlines for better access to health care for people with HIV and AIDS. Neo-Nazis distribute anti-trans & antisemitic flyers across Atlanta

Residents have been left stunned after antisemitic and anti-trans flyers were recently distributed across multiple Atlanta neighborhoods. According to Fox 5, the flyers appear to have come from a group called the Goyim Defense League, which the Anti-Defamation League describes as “a loose network of individuals connected by their virulent antisemitism” whose “goal is to cast aspersions on Jews and spread antisemitic myths and conspiracy theories.” Doctors could get up to 10 years in prison under the new law. Laura Kelly (D) vetoed a slate of anti-trans bills passed by the Republican-dominated legislature.  One bill seeks to ban trans people from using bathrooms and other public facilities that align with their gender identity, and another attempts to ban gender-affirming care for trans youth. Lizzo brought an army of drag performers to the stage at her Knoxville, Tennessee, concert on Friday night to protest the state’s anti-drag law. Pride parade canceled in anticipation of Florida drag ban law

City officials in Port St. Lucie, Florida, have canceled a planned Pride parade in anticipation of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signing into law a bill aimed at banning drag shows and, in the words of one state Republican, “erasing” the LGBTQ+ community. Friends and family mourn the death of trans hairstylist Ashley Burton

Friends and family are mourning Ashley Burton, a Black trans hairstylist who was murdered earlier this month. Atlanta police reportedly found the 37-year-old’s body shortly after 4:30am on April 11 in the breezeway of her apartment complex. Investigators say she was shot inside her home before fleeing outside, where she collapsed. So far a suspect has not been named, but according to 11 Alive, police believe this was a domestic-related shooting. One activist said she is even considering detransitioning for her own safety. Luxembourg’s openly gay prime minister Xavier Bettel has taking aim at the leader of Hungary for the country’s anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. Hungary passed its most notable anti-LGBTQ+ law, the Child Protection Act, in June 2021.
