In Equality California’s 20th anniversary year, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ civil rights organization has introduced its most aggressive, robust package of pro-equality legislation yet. The organization’s priorities include a number of first-in-the-nation bills and are primarily focused on supporting LGBTQ youth and families, increasing access to HIV prevention medication and protecting the civil rights of transgender and intersex Californians. Intersex Rights Bill Tabled Until Next Year

California National Guard Defies Trump on Transgender Troop Ban

The California National Guard will continue to welcome transgender troops despite a military-wide ban. The Trump administration rule that bans transgender people from serving in the armed forces went into effect on April 12. However, California’s National Guard has made clear that it will not be following suit in adopting the policy. L.A. LGBT Center’s New Campus for “Most Vulnerable People” in Community

Just in time for its 50th anniversary, the Los Angeles LGBT Center celebrated the grand opening on Sunday of the highly anticipated two-acre Anita May Rosenstein Campus, an unprecedented complex designed to serve the most vulnerable people of the LGBT community: seniors and youth. San Jose City Council Pledges to Make New Airport Chick-fil-A The ‘Gayest’ in Country

San Jose’s mayor and city council dropped the ball 13 months ago when they approved a new Chick-fil-A as part of the contract for the concessionaire at Mineta San Jose International Airport.
