CNN and HRC Will Host Historic LGBT Town Hall

The Human Rights Campaign and CNN will host Power of Pride, a Democratic presidential town hall focused on LGBTQ issues in October.  The town hall will take place on Thursday, October 10, the night before the 21st annual National Coming Out Day, at The Novo in Los Angeles. It will air live on CNN. Human Rights Campaign launched its new campaign “Americans for the Equality Act,” a video series which features celebrities who support the Equality Act, on Monday. The proposed bill would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. Country singer Kacey Musgraves won the coveted Album of the Year award for her album “Golden Hour” marking the end of a Grammys award show filled with plenty of queer women representation. Musgraves, who also won Country Album of the Year, has emerged as an LGBTQ ally in the country music world. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Loses GLAAD Award Nomination over Singer Allegations
