The American track star defended their national championship in a final 1500m race at the US Olympic Track and Field trials, with a record time of 3 minutes, 55.33 seconds. Tokyo Marathon adds nonbinary category for 2025 race

The 2025 Tokyo Marathon will allow athletes to select nonbinary as their gender identity instead of male or female during registration. Richardson was slated to compete at the Tokyo Olympics after she won the 100-meter final at the U.S trials three years ago, just one week after her mother passed away. Judge strikes down NY county’s ban on female transgender athletes after roller derby league sues

A New York judge on Friday struck down a Long Island county’s order banning female transgender athletes after a local women’s roller derby league challenged it. Judge Francis Ricigliano ruled that Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman didn’t have the authority to issue his February executive order, which denies park permits to any women’s and girl’s teams, leagues or organizations that allow female transgender athletes to participate. California surfing competition told it must let trans woman compete

A surfing competition has been told to let transgender women compete or risk a violation of a local law. Think transgender women have an advantage in sports? A new study disputes the idea

A new study out of the U.K. undercuts the idea that transgender women have an advantage over cisgender women in sports — and suggests that trans women are less like cis men than many suppose. The study was funded by the International Olympic Committee and conducted at the University of Brighton in England. It was published in April in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
