A black transgender woman has described a confrontation in the ladies bathroom of an In-N-Out restaurant that left her feeling “demoralised, devalued and powerless”. Democratic presidential candidate Julián Castro went to Mexico to meet with migrants seeking U.S. asylum who are now required to stay south of the border under the Trump administration’s Migration Protection Protocols, also known as the Remain in Mexico policy. The Trump Administration Told a City to Remove its Pride Rainbow Crossings

Locals in the city of Ames, Iowa, are delighted with their new Pride crossings – but the federal government isn’t. The Trump administration told the town that they must remove the rainbow crosswalks, which are painted in different colours to represent different members of the LGBT+ community. The Iowa city’s response? They’ve decided to say no. Pride crosswalks don’t comply with federal rules. Native American Tribe becomes First to Pass Hate Crime Law Protecting LGBT People

The Oglala Sioux Tribe may have become the first Native American tribe to introduce a hate crime law protecting LGBT+ and two spirit people. There is no comprehensive data on law codes for the 573 federally recognised American Indian tribes, but Indian Country Today reported that it could not find any other hate crime laws that specifically mention LGBT+ and two spirit people. The Sonoma County LGBTQI Timeline is on display at Sonoma State University until Dec.13 as part of Queeries, Queer Artists And Identity. The exhibit is in the Sonoma State University Library. A Tennessee teen who died by suicide last week was cyberbullied by classmates over his perceived sexuality prior to his death, according to the teen’s brother. Channing Smith, 16, a high school student in Coffee County, Tennessee, died by suicide between Sept. 22 and Sept. 23.
